Building a journey out of 1000 original documents left by Napoleon Bonaparte  during his venture to the Middle East

Launch Website

When the national library of Israel held an exhibition showcasing a rare collection of original documents of Napoleon and his army, they knew that they need something a bit more interactive and more available to the public.

We created an interactive map that guides the reader throughout 13 stations in Napoleon's expedition to the Middle East in 1798.

The biggest challenge in this project was how to deal with a massive amount of text, and how to make it seem less intimidating and a little more inviting to read.

After exploring several options, we decided that an interactive map that will go side by side to the text will allow the user to have a more interesting reading experience and offer a better understanding of the journey and events.
